EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION BANQUET
A Celebration of Young Minds
For the past several years, the MEED
Center and the Greater Dallas Asian American Chamber of Commerce
(GDAACC) have been hosting the Excellence in Education Banquet
which honors many of the top Asian-American students from
Dallas-area high schools. At the 2007 banquet which was
sponsored in large part by the
United Central Bank, we proudly
gave out twenty four scholarships to some very deserving young minds:

In addition, the scholarship selection committee awarded two special scholarships:
The Jerry Junkins Memorial Scholarship and the James Yoo Scholarship.
The Jerry Junkins Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Bonny Su
for demonstrating an outstanding balance of academic
achievement, extracurricular involvement and community service.

The James Yoo Scholarship was awarded to Nimisha Thakore for demonstrating
the most outstanding overall performance in the senior year.
